Another card for the troops

Some of the cards for the troops I tried to go for a less girly look.
I thought this one would work for birthdays etc. This is somewhat
similar in idea to an earlier card I posted.

Time to blog

So I think I got tagged by Jacque I ran across it yesterday and I think I am the Erica in question... Read her blog she's hilarious!

What is his name? Weston Allen Bass (Three last names)
How long have you been married? eight years
Who eats more? It depends on what day it is. Maybe the question is who has the bigger mouth?
How long did you date? umm date? I guess we had one date before we were engaged, then engaged for 3 months
How old is he? 30
Who said I love you first? Honestly don't remember the exact time, but it must have been good!
Who is taller? Wes by about 3 or 4 if he stands up straight.
Who sings better? That would be me. He only sings one note LOW
Who is smarter? Him
Whose temper is worse? Mine if it builds up
Who does the laundry? Him if he wants clean clothes lately (I don't know when the laundry strike started. Oh yeah we got a cat and it lives in the laundry room!)
Who does the dishes? Me?
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me
Who mows the lawn? Lawn? You mean the big ugly brown patch of dead grass? Him a few months ago.
Who cooks dinner? Me or Wes will order pizza his specialty
Who kissed who first? That would have been me. It was an accident, I didn't mean to..
Who asked who out? I think it was mutual.
Who proposed? Weston warned me in an email that he might and he did
Who has more friends? I don't know
Who is more sensitive? I am the cry baby
Who has more siblings? I have 5 he has 4
Who wears the pants? He does. I just get after the kids too.

And I'll tag.....
Misty, Michelle, Kristy and Alyssa... Let's have a race and whoever posts first wins a prize!!

For the troops

This card is one of a series that I designed for the young women
at church to make for the troops serving in Iraq. We made
over 60 cards to donate and the girls had a good time. Thus
the designs are simple in nature so we could churn them out.
I just had to use my cuddle bug! I thought I'd grabbed
my label punch for this one and I forgot so we used the
square instead. Oh well...

Stamps: Party Punch Hostess set
Ink: Cool carribean
Accessories: Textile Embossing Folder (cuddle bug), Hemp twine,
Brown Ribbon (Hobby Lobby)

Please Help

I've been asked to teach a mini class at a church function about blogging. I am looking for tips I can share with the ladies about blogging. I am sure that most people coming will not have a blog but might want to start one. I of course will give the run down on not giving detailed personal information and things of that nature, but I would love any input you would like to share with me.
I'm teaching this class on Saturday, so please leave your comments. Thank you! Anyone who shares could find a RAK in their mailbox!

Halloween Swap

This is the card I did for my demo swap at the beginning of the month.
I thought it would be fun to use the designer paper for the "sentiment"
on the card. I stamped the focal image with basic black then
colored in with the watercolor wonder crayons. After I was done coloring
I went over the seam wisps with 2 way glue and sprinkled glitter over them.
the pumpkin pie matte is also glittery (in case you can't see).

This was my experimental idea: I used my glue stick
and got the whole front of the pumpkin pie covered
generously, then I put the finished image piece
on top like usual, then I covered the remaining
edges with glitter. I just poured the glitter into my powder pal
and scraped the edges through. It gives a magical touch!

Stamp Set: Haunting Halloween
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

A little too creative?

Here's a Halloween card that I concocted last week. I was trying to come up with a different shape so it might be a little kooky but I wanted to show off the star bg on both sides. So I cut off part of the wasabi card base and mounted the flying cat on the eggplant matte and glued it where I wanted it to be. I used the Gamsol Magic technique (tutorial on Splitcoast) since I finally got some Prismacolor pencils to try out.

Stamp Sets: Haunting Halloween, Stampin' Around Autumn Leaves
Card Stock: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Oderless Mineral Spirits (Turpenoid), Prismacolor Pencils, Q-tips

True Friend

The second card we did in our Card Club this weekend.
I had a few people that were new to stamping so I kept
things fairly basic so everyone would have a good experience.
I'm really happy with the way this turned out. Sorry this picture
is a little on the blurry side!

Stamp Sets: True Friend, Boho Friend wheel
Card Stock: Soft Sky, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa,
Really Rust (wheel cartridge)
Accessories: Stampin' Around Wheel

I'm back with a fall card

Here is one of the cards we are going to make in my
card club this weekend. I wanted to case
this one from the catalog but use an alternate
color for the background. I chose River Rock
I also don't have the Sanded BG so I used my canvas
BG instead. Then I distressed it a little by using the direct
to paper technique. It's simple and to the point
but I think it'll be nice to go that direction this time.

Stamp Sets: Autumn Fest, Everyday Flexable Phrases
Canvas BG
Card stock: Very Vanilla, River Rock, Chocolate Chip
and Close to Cocoa
Ink: Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa
and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1 3/8" Square Punch
