Getting Buggy with Allison

I thought I'd be creative and piece together a watermelon for this card. The theme was using any bug except a butterfly and I pulled out my Bugs and Kisses stamp set and got creative.

I made the watermelon with my Cuttlebug Circle Frame die. Made three of the circles one in Garden Green, one in Whisper White and the last was pixie pink. Afterwards I cut the circles in half. On the pixie pink I used the brush end of my versamarker to make the seeds and embossed them with black ep. I sponged Regal Rose and also Purely Pomegranate. Notice I also added seeds on the background paper and embossed them as well. The ants are also embossed in black. The sentiment is from Sophisticate by QuickStamps (QuickKutz).

The smaller piece of watermelon was from my leftover half of the circles and I took "bites out of it with a 1/4" hole punch and my ticket corner punch.

Paper: Cool Caribbean, :Purely Pomegranate and som random piece of scrapbook paper.

Comments accepted by other blog engins

Thanks to a suggestion from Beate Johns I enabled commenting from other Blog sites like Type Pad and Word Press etc. I didn't even know that I could do that, but thanks to a little research I found out how I could. So comment away!

Scrapbook for my new nephew

This weekend I was working on a baby album for my sister Alyssa. She's so pregnant she's going to go any time. It's just fun to work on something during the week of anticipation. I will probably get it done before she has him so I think I will add the stats at the beginning. Basically she will just have to add pictures. I was thinking of sending her the right kind of glue because she just doesn't like to think about things like that. I've tried to get her into the scrapbooking thing but she views it as a chore more than something fun. I told her it might be better to go to one of those book publishing sites that you upload your pictures and text and they charge you by how many pages it is. She should really do something! Her strong point is writing and I think she could really do something entertaining. So here's a few of the pages. I don't think I can post them all. Believe it or not this is only half of the book.

I got the album at the Target $1 section and the paper and stickers too. I basically got the idea standing in the isle at Target and thought "This is what I'm going to do!" Anyway I took the book apart and adding some colored cardstock (SU!) pages in and am happy with how it's turning out!

Details: Scrapbook printed paper and stickers Target $1, Cardstock certainly celery, bashful blue, tempting turquoise, so saffron (the white was in there.) Cuttlebug swiss dots folder, Fiskars clouds scissors, Michaels ribbon, and SU white grosgrain, K&Co baby boy tags.

Bunny Hugs Bagalope Basket

So I came across the directions for this on Cambria Turnbow's blog and just had to make one. I've done the bag-a-lope before but she had a customer suggest to make slits in the bottom to tuck the corners in and I liked that a lot more. The bottom corners just tuck right in nice and secure. This really doesn't take much time at all. I'm going to make one for Ian's teacher before school's out for Spring Break.

Details: Paper is some scraps from my Mind's Eye pack, Old Olive CS, Whisper White, Kraft Envelope.
Ink: Basic Grey, and Watercolor wonder crayons painted on with a paintbrush and a punched flower combined with a Bazzil flower.

Little Blossom

This is the last of the pages I got done the other week. Again the paper is My Mind's Eye and I cut out a large scallop circle with my friend's Cricut. The title piece and the sticker strip are also My Mind's Eye and the little flower strip is from a paper frills package by doodlebug design. The flower stickers are by Me & My Big Ideas and I've been wanting to use them for a long time now. I'm trying to use up things that I already have and have been hoarding. That is one of my resolutions this year is to use it all up, that's why I bought it right?

Beauty

Here is another quick page I did with the kits I made myself. I used the rub-ons from SAB some 3d flowers I made with the spring flowers punch and some premade elements by My Mind's Eye.

Berry Bliss

I bought this paper back in October and I even set up kits for myself so I had no excuse not to get to them but with all of the Christmas/ Craft fair crafting I was too distracted to get to it until now. Anyway I was scrapbooking at my friend Natalie's house and I finally got some pages done just for myself and not for a workshop or anything. It was such a great feeling. I was there for a few hours until my daughter Genevieve started looking pale and I thought, "she's sicker than I thought!" ( she was complaining of a headache earlier.) I felt so guilty bringing her over to my friend's house. Turns out the next morning all the girls in my family were not feeling too well... She's so nice not to hold it against me! We did have a lot of fun though.

So here is one of the three pages I finished and I think it is my favorite. The whole lay out turned out great and having cute pictures of Poppy doesn't hurt either. She's wearing the cute little strawberry hat her Grandma Bass have her when they visited last October.

The paper and cardstock strip are both by My Mind's Eye. I actually avoid the specialty scrapbook stores at times because I can't resist this brand!
