Our theme is handmade flowers for the blog hop. I made these springy flowers out of a star punch. I love using various punches to make flowers. I've never used my star punch though so I thought it would be fun to try out! Below is a little graphic I put together to show my method.

Scrapbook Steals Blog Hop!

You have arrived at the last stop for the Scrapbook Steals blog hop. You should have come from
Sue Kithcart's blog if not make sure you've commented on every blog for the chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to the Scrapbook Steals store!

I was super excited when I found out that I would be working with American Crafts Wood Veneer Pieces for the Scrapbook Steals blog hop this weekend. I just love all of the different shapes available these days. I have several packs already and I find them to be very versatile. This particular pack just made me think either travel or boy. I wanted to show at least two ways to use the little guys. On the above card I decided to leave the wood naked to show the texture in all it's glory. I backed them with little black hearts to make the shapes pop. The squares are white cardstock with washi tape on top.

My second card I thought I'd show the pieces with a little color. I first put a layer of white acrylic paint and let it dry for a few minutes. Then I spritzed with Mr Hueys in primary colors for a bold bright colors. I did the layer of white acrylic to make the color really bright. Otherwise it had a tendency to look a bit darker as it sinks into the wood.  The background of the card is  a bunch of different washi tapes I have on hand that went with the little boy look I was going for.

Thanks for stopping by there are so many great scrapbooking ideas at the Scrapbook Steals blog and I love shopping there for all of the great deals. Make sure you get your hands on some of these awesome wood veneer pieces so you can try some of the great ideas featured on the blog hop.

Paper Girls Challenge #29: April Showers Bring May Flowers

Our current challenge at the Paper Girls Challenge is April Showers Bring May Flowers. I recently got this Paper Trey Ink stamp and since it's one of my very favorite flowers (rananculus) I just had to have it. This is one of the flowers that really says Spring to me.

This card is for a family that recently lost their brother/ son and I really wanted to make something for them.

Go to this post to join in on the challenge. You can make anything that the theme brings to mind. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
