Burnt Card

I've had a bout of stamper's block lately. That is not unusual when I have an upcoming workshop. For Allison's challenge this week we are supposed to burn the edges of our image or just incorporate pyromania into our card making. I honestly did feel a little bit like a kid playing with [lighter] but I just stood under the hood of the stove with the fan on hoping I didn't wake the family with the fire alarm at 12:30 am. The effect is really cool. Thanks for the suggestion Allison!

I figured I should break out the Fresh Cuts stamp set since there is a promotion about a sneak peek at the next catalog and all. You know, if this is any indication of what is coming up in the next catalog then it should be really cool. The note cards are really nice, I have a couple of ideas that once they are on paper and they turn out I will post them shortly. The piece of Really Rust card stock was distressed by my children and I just helped it a little further along. I found five sheets of a new pack in my daughter's room and the other side has orange crayon on it. {Sigh}
Oh and I also used some walnut ink to fill in on the background, just with a paintbrush. The funny thing about the embossing being green is I thought I was grabbing black. Oh well I was way too tired to think about it.

Stamp Set: Fresh Cuts
Card Stock: Creamy Caramel. Really Rust, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Basic Black, Walnut ink, Stamp 'n Write Markers
Accessories: Lighter, 5/8" wide grosgrain, Emerald F0rest EP

Gorgeous Erica...I love the idea of using this set and distressing the heck out of it! And you even did it on the very edge of your card...that is a neat idea worth stealing! Thanks for playing again!
