The challenge this time is to use stamps on your layout either as an accent or on the background of your page. It took me forever this time to come up with my page. I really don't know why. I think I was putting too much pressure on myself to do something cool. Anyhow I wanted to use these really cute pictures of my son playing out in the snow and decided to get away from the usual blue color scheme that I associate with snow.
I used some retired cardstock from Stampin' Up for my base in Dusty Durango. I stamped around the edge of my page with VersaMark ink and a retired stamp set I've never used called Northern Hearts by SU and the paper is also a retired paper I had from a couple of years ago also from SU. Mainly, I'm trying to use up things that are in my stash - especially stuff that I've been hoarding because I really like it.
I stamped on the journal card that I die cut with the new Framelits Labels. I love these! They are so easy to use and very easy to transport to crops etc. I also stamped the snowflakes from Northern Hearts in VersaMark on the background of the label. And for a little extra shading for contrast around the edge of the label I used the Distressing Essentials Kit and buffed the outside with some of the Tea Stain ink.
If you want to play along at Paper Girls Challenge this round you have until Friday March 16th to submit your entry.
