Paper Girls Challenge #34: Time for a sketch

Sheryl from The Paper Girls team came up with this lovely sketch for our latest challenge.  The great part is it's really versatile so you can really use it for almost any layout.

I thought it would be fun to scrapbook a page about my nephew and the quilt I made for him. I've made one for each of my nieces and nephews on my side of the family when they are born. Sometimes it takes a little bit longer but is so fun to really give them a gift from the heart.  This one was a bit more complicated than usual so it took longer to finish.

Now make sure you try this sketch out and post your creation on the Paper Girls Challenge blog for a chance to win a prize!

Pinspired Challenges #10

I was super happy to have a moment of time between all of the activities I have planned for keeping the kids busy over the summer. I absolutely LOVE the color palette above. When I saw the colors I really wanted to come up with something. I decided to keep it fresh and summery like the inspiration picture. If you want to check out the challenge go to their blog Pinspired Challenges. Here's what I came up with:
The best part is that in the palette I could include some of the new Stampin' Up In Colors. I used Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Pistachio Pudding and added Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. To get the ombre effect I carefully added ink with my Strawberry Slush stamp pad to the top of the image then added Rich Razzleberry on top of that. I used my blender pen to remove any ink that landed where I didn't want it. Then I swiped some of the Coastal Cabana to the center of the image added the Pistachio pudding to the bottom making sure that all of the image was inked. I'm really happy with the finished product.

Paper Girls Challenge #33: Beach

This post will be short and sweet! Our challenge was to make a creation with a beach theme. Here in New Mexico we are short on beach front so I decided to go with the next best thing. My kids love the water playground and I had some fun pictures still in need of scrapping from last year. I had fun adding accents with stamping and washi for this layout.  Hope you get some time to create this summer. If you do make sure you link up a beach themed project at The Paper Girls Challenge blog!
