Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration - Color Challenge
Today's post is a Color Challenge from the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog. It's always fun to participate with Color Challenges and this one is right up my ally. I love combining these tones of colors. However for me this still had me thinking out of the box, because I usually grab brighter tones of these types of colors. I love the results though!
Regarding Dahlias stamp set even though it is still one of my most favorite stamp sets. Today I really had the urge to pull out my inks and watercolor the images in. I think part of this decision is from looking at all of the inspiration in the new Occasions catalog that was just released on January 3rd. While I wait for my first order to arrive I will content myself with the ideas from the catalog! I painted a yellow wash with So Saffron behind the Primrose Petals flowers. I usually paint over the whole flower with a very diluted mix of the ink with my Aqua Painter and then go back over the shaded areas of the stamp with a more concentrated ink. I stamped the Dahlia image with Bermuda Bay ink on the Bermuda Bay card stock for a subtle patten on the base of the card. The last little detail I added was to add Delicate Details paper lace tape under the edge of the stamped image for a more finished look.
Make sure to head over to the Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration blog for even more samples for the Color Challenge.
