SSI Metallic

I was totally excited to showcase something metallic today. I thought it would be fun to focus on one product that can take a plain card and really amp up the look without too much extra effort. I used the Encore Silver Ink pad. This is fun stuff to use and is much faster than embossing to get silver on your project.

First off, I used the cupcake builder punch to create a mask with a post it note on the sicky edge so I could sponge the cloud background on the tag. I alternated between the Soft Sky ink and Pool Party. I decided that a little bit of Smoky Slate would be perfect to add shadows to the clouds so I dabbed that on as an afterthought. Next, I stamped the airplane image which I love from the Around the World stamp set with the Encore Silver Ink. I also stamped "away we go" with the silver ink and after giving plenty of drying time which this ink needs, I was able to use the Starburst Framelits die to cut it out which was a happy surprise. Another silver detail I added was to add the arrow background on the base of the card because I'm crazy like that. I used the row of arrows from the Show and Tell 1 stamp set and found it fairly easy to do because it is one of our photopolymer stamp sets.
