Monochromatic Fun

Over at SSInk we thought it would be fun to showcase some cards made with a Monochromatic color scheme.  This definitely doesn't mean boring. I find that this is an easy way to pick out some colors for a card if you are nervous about mixing colors.

I decided to go with Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar.I started by stamping the background with the swirl in Creative Elements in Crushed Curry. Then I stamped the top layer with the sentiment from Oh, Hello. I can never resist the Dahlia from Creative elements so I stamped that at the bottom for a focal point. You can never go wrong with flowers, right? I added a pop of color and brought the Crushed Curry color back in by sponging the flowers. It's fast and easy and  it has a beautiful effect. Also, Baked Brown Sugar is the perfect sponging color for edges. Lastly, I added a couple of strips of washi tape on the background and some pearls.

Go on over and check out the SSInk blog for more ideas and color schemes for Monochromatic cards.
